Reheating
All pastry products are baked fresh. Exceeding these temperatures will re-bake the pastry and burn the product.
- Temperature
- Heat all pastry at 150 to 160°C fan forced, or 180 to 190°C not fan forced. Going hotter re-bakes the pastry and burns the product.
- Mini and cocktail pastries
- 12 to 15 minutes.
- Regular and individual pastries
- 20 to 25 minutes.
- Family pie plates, medium quiches and lattice fruit pies
- 30 to 35 minutes.
- Large quiches
- 40 to 45 minutes.
- From frozen
- Always heat from frozen where you can. Thawing first lets condensation form, and the moisture ruins the pastry’s consistency.
- On a rack
- Use a baking wire or a thin baking tray, so the heat reaches the centre properly.
- Quiche
- Keep it covered with foil for the first half of the heating time, so the top does not dry out.

Common questions
What temperature do I reheat your pastries at?
Heat all pastry at 150 to 160°C fan forced, or 180 to 190°C not fan forced. Anything hotter re-bakes the pastry and burns the product. Mini pastries take 12 to 15 minutes, regular pastries 20 to 25, family pie plates and medium quiches 30 to 35, and large quiches 40 to 45.
Should I thaw pastries before heating them?
No. Heat from frozen wherever you can. Thawing first lets condensation form, and that moisture ruins the consistency of the pastry.
How long do cream cakes and custard tarts last?
Cream cakes, cheesecakes and custards keep for up to 24 hours, airtight, in the fridge. Packet slices and banana bread keep up to two weeks the same way.
How long do your donuts keep?
Ten to twelve hours. Keep them somewhere cool and dark, because humidity and moisture will damage them.
Can I buy pastries cold and heat them at home?
Yes. Every pastry we sell is available cold, so you can freeze it or heat it up another day. Pastries bought hot should be eaten then rather than reheated.
Do you make birthday or specialty cakes?
We do not make large specialty cakes for birthdays or other such events. What we specialise in is pastries, donuts and catering, with over 200 products on offer around the clock and a cafe that seats over 80 people.
Do you have gluten free or a full bread range?
Our gluten free range is very limited, because everything is baked on site and the risk of contamination is high, so we do not recommend any of it for those with coeliac disease. The range of bread available each day is limited until it sells out.
